3rd BOPALiM Webinar: Inclusive mobility and career participation (WG4)

This webinar will present the outputs of a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) at University College London (UCL), sharing the insights of Rasa Rudaitienė, who examined how inclusive mobility environments influence social and career participation. The focus was on people facing mobility challenges related to disability, ageing, or other factors. Rasa met with researchers from education, psychology, architecture, and disability studies to discuss inclusive design, accessibility, and labour market participation to gain a multidisciplinary perspective. These exchanges highlighted best practices in London’s mobility system and generated ideas for joint research and publications to facilitate WG4 knowledge exchange activities.

The visit created valuable international links, supported knowledge transfer, and contributed to future collaboration, contributing in building capacity while contributing in meeting WG3 objectives. In addition, the STSM also contributed to WG4 objectives through dissemination and communication activities, including the presentation of BOPALiM, its aims, activities, and objectives at diverse audiences in London. This webinar shares key findings, examples of inclusive practices, and possible research directions. Additionally, it offers a brief insight about the value of conducting a STSM for BOPALiM. This webinar is hosted by our WG4 Leader, Dr Nikolas Thomopoulos, on Friday 23rd January 2026 at 13:30 – 14:00 CET.
