The RCOT Fellowship and Merit Awards celebrate members who demonstrate outstanding dedication and impact at any stage of their career. In presenting the award, the Fellowship and Merit Awards Committee commended Dr Varshney’s “unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives and wellbeing of others, consistently showcasing innovative leadership in both service development and the delivery of care.”
The Committee also highlighted his significant influence on the profession, particularly through his mentorship in the Postgraduate Certification at Oxford Brookes University in Driving Assessments and Outdoor Mobility. These activities are linked with WG1 objectives of BOPALiM, so Action members will benefit by the UK experience of Dr Varshney. His guidance has supported colleagues at every stage, fostering personal and professional growth while advancing the field of occupational therapy.
Dr Varshney serves as Consultant Practitioner at South East DriveAbility and Strategic Director for Driving Mobility (UK), where he continues to champion excellence and innovation in mobility services. His participation in the first MC meeting of BOPALiM will enrich Action plans for the year ahead.
